I am a high school mathematics teacher in Washington, DC. I am very passionate about teaching and am working on a fellowship that requires me to teach in DC for the next four school years. I look forward to changing the lives of students and getting more people, especially women, passionate about mathematics.

I have had many experiences in my life which have made me into who I am today. I do not judge others for their past just as I hope others would not judge me. Some of my best friends have encouraged me to find my own path in life and I took a big risk moving here from Michigan. It has been a wild trip through life and I am looking forward to more fun to come!

I enjoy a lot of things in my leisure time. I really enjoy bike riding. I also love winter sports; ice skating, skiing, playing in the snow...guess that comes from being a Michigan gal! I really love movies too. I really enjoy cuddling on the couch (currently with my cat Mojo!) with some popcorn to a good action or scary movie. I also love to go on long walks through Rock Creek park by my home. It is a beautiful time of year and I enjoy watching the leaves change color and enjoying the weather.

I would love to have a night on the town, maybe seeing a hockey game or going ice skating. I love spending time looking at some of the sites in DC too. But it really depends on the person for me. I love to try new things.

I've always wanted to go hang gliding. I would also love to be able to go on a long trip out of the country.
