Hi, I'm Luke.

I'm finally a "young working professional," and I was looking for someone who was in that same place in life, more or less.

I moved out here from Carlina about a month ago, and I'm loving it here in California now. I'm not originally from the south, but i was wise enough to see the beauty of it. So I would say, "I'm not southern by birth, but by the grace of god." ;o) So, I intend to be a southern gentleman, but I don't have an accent and you probably wouldn't know i was from Carolina if I didn't tell you. At anyrate, I'm West Coast now.

A little about me...
I enjoy good friends, good conversation and good times.

Although I just got out here, I have a great group of friends here already. and of course I'm close to my college friends and family back east.

Lately I've been leading a busy life. But that's good. An active lifestyle is a healthy lifestyle. So, I work hard and I play hard. Outside of work, I love trivia night, a good glass of wine, and a good meal (with good company of course). I enjoy tennis, hiking, travel, the arts, reading, concerts, skiing and adventures to be determined...

I love my music... I'm into classic rock, alternative rock, indie and folk. I do some classical, but not all the time. On another note, I'm working on the guitar.

I fancy myself to be a bit of an intellectual, so I love philosophical discourse. wit and banter.
I'm also quite creative and would like to do more creative writing; I have all these ideas of things I should write, but the demands of work and life keep obstructing the novelist within me. Oh well, I'll be published soon enough.

I have a taste for the exotic.. I want to travel all over the world, and I love everything foreign. I even like Canada, because its quasi-European (especially Montreal!). But in all seriousness, I love travel, even if its just a weekend trip to San Fran or LA. I'd really love to go to Europe again. The problem is I want to go everywhere, except for Mogadishu (not a big fan).

I love the outdoors. I know I alluded to that point already, but its true. I really love a good hike because you feel so good once you are done, but of course, it is also very peaceful and beautiful out in the woods. I also like camping and fishing when I can. Some day I intend to get a canoe, because that has always been my absolute favorite thing. My best friend from college and I recently canoed the upper James in the mountains of Virginia. It was a blast.

I have a great family, but we're spread out all over the country... Alaska, Oregon, Washington, Carolina, Ohio... But, I come from a very traditional Catholic family and, we're all quite an eclectic group. Genuine individuals, that for sure.

I have a dog - she's like 7 or 8 months old. Her name is Pavii and shes a nut. She's a dalmatian/terrier mix. Sweet dog. Always happy to see me when i get home from work, or when I wake up.

This has really turned into a stream of consciousness, so I suppose I should wrap this up.

Basically, I'm here because I want to meet a good Catholic girl and I have found it to be difficult to meet such women, as we live in a secular world this day in age. Unfortunately, its all to easy to get in a relationship with someone and find everything going well and then realize that your fundamentally incompatible.

I've decided that non-Christians are categorically barred as I continue my dating career. And I think I would be happiest with a woman who shares my value system. Of course, I want to find someone whom I'm attracted to, and with whom I have fun with and can be myself with, but I think the shared value system is absolutely important. Of course, so is intelligence and other such things. But truly, I believe that what I like most in a woman is a sweet and tender heart.
