So, here's the thing...

All too often I find myself wishing I had someone to turn to and share a joke or an recent insight.
Someone to sit around and do absolutely nothing with, or the complete opposite.
Someone to watch a movie with and criticize each preview.
Someone to have coffee with on saturday morning, feeling no need to get dressed or go out.
Someone to encourage me and also let me be their equal.


I want to be charmed by you, so badly.
I want to find myself yearning for the presence of you.
Your opinion, your jokes, your aimless thoughts that you wish for only me to hear.
Your hopes, dreams, even your most outrageous ideas.

I have convinced myself that you are somewhere out there, waiting in the wings.

I can't help but be impatient.

Satisfy my soul.


Who are you?
Where are you?.

Are you funny? Charming? Can you challenge me? Tease me?
Keep me on my toes?

I know that perfection is not possible.
I know that I'm not perfect, either.

I am introverted, quiet, passive.
I let myself be a supporting character sometimes when I wish I could be the lead.
I am not particularly ambitious, I want only to be happy (but that's enough, right?).
I am silly, sometimes in the wrong situations.
I sometimes let humor envelop my true feelings.

But I also try to be a good person and friend.
I try to make others happy, comfortable, and at ease.
I try to speak carefully and be a courteous person.
I try to go to sleep on time
I try to cultivate my talents and learn good habits.
I try to find matching socks, but it isn't always possible.

But maybe you're all right with a challenge.
