I'm kind and sincere; smart in some ways…naïve in others; active; somewhat shy; and fairly independent. I strive to be respectful to others and generally believe that being respectful is more important than being right.

My interests/tastes are pretty varied. I like to stay busy and enjoy playing volleyball; running; participating in a variety of other activities (like zumba and some yoga); checking out unique establishments and events; going to symphony concerts; listening to local musicians; checking out historic buildings; etc. I'm feminine but not a girly girl, and I'm not uppity or demanding. Most people who get to know me would consider me pretty down-to-earth.

I have two kids -- a 16-year-old son and a five-year-old daughter. I became a widow when my husband was killed in a car accident in January 2006. Roughly two years later, I left a fairly demanding corporate job so that I could have more time, energy and flexibility for my children, who are also involved in various activities.
